This fanlisting, Double Agent, is for the reality show, "The Mole". The show, hosted by Anderson Cooper, debuted in January 2001 and ran for two seasons. Anderson was then asked by CNN to choose between them (who he had been a newscaster for at the same time) and The Mole. Anderson chose CNN so Ahmad Rashad took over as host and two seasons of Celebrity Mole have aired since then. This fanlisting is for the two seasons of the original series only and any future seasons of the original "The Mole" (featuring non-celebrity players). There is a fanlisting for Celebrity Mole here.

The premise is that a group of strangers (10 in the first season and 14 in the second) complete tasks of all sorts to win as much money as they can for the pot. One of the players is actually working for the show and is a double agent aka "the mole." They try to sabotage tasks so the group fails to win any or as much money, but they do so discretely so the other players don't catch on. The object of the show is to find out who the mole is and know more about them than the everyone else.

Along the way, players can compete for exemptions which, when won, allow that player to be exempt from being eliminated for that round. Each episode, everyone takes a quiz to see how well they know the other players, specifically who they think the mole is. The person with the lowest score is eliminated from the game. In the case of a tie, it is the person who completed the quiz in the slowest time who is eliminated.

The last episode of the season finds 3 players still in the game. One will be the last person eliminated, one will be the mole, and one will be the winner who gets to take home all the money in the pot. Also in the last episode, we get to see exactly how the mole sabotaged certain games as well as any clues that were given along the way.
